Details: Eleven Madison sells a variety of clothing, art, antiques, and furniture. Eclectic and sometimes whimsical, there is something to appeal to everyone old and young alike. Owner Carol Major says with a laugh that it is “sort of like Mrs. Haversam’s house.”
Located in one of Sag Harbor’s oldest buildings, the store evokes a sense of the town’s history with rough hewn beams and low ceilings.
Eleven Madison is known for its women’s clothing designed by Carol who worked as a marketer in the fashion business in Manhattan for more than two decades. She now markets the clothing through her company called Prosecco which specializes in items for women forty and over.
Eleven Madison also carries a line of men’s and children’s clothing focusing on casual resort wear with bright colors and bold patterns from a locally managed company called Blake which also distributes nationally.
In addition to clothing, Eleven Madison sells tables and chairs, artwork, pillows, pottery and more. Many of the items are locally designed. Other items come all the way from India, such as painted wooden chests with brass trim.
